Japanese Drunk Makeup – Igari AKA Japanese Hangover Inspired Look

What is Igari Makeup?

Igari AKA the Hangover Look, is a Japanese makeup style that resembles a drunken appearance.  The makeup style is suppose to look very innocent, while also appearing to be very natural.

Igari Makeup

This look first originated from a Japanese makeup artist by the name of Igari Shinobu.  The emphasis is on the rosy cheeks, as one might naturally see on an intoxicated individual.  This look is cute and endearing, but best of all, it is very very simple to complete.

The Base Of My Face

Just like any other makeup routine, I started with my Baby Skin Primer.  Once that is throughly rubbed on my face, I used a beauty blender to apply my foundation.  I normally use Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless in 128 warm nude but today, I went with a lighter shade.  In order to really get that pale and soft look, I used Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless in 110.

Once I got the foundation coverage I was happy with, I went in with Concealer in the center of my face.  I blended the product into the center of my forehead, down the center of my nose and under my eyes.

Next, I used Airspun Loose Face Powder in the shade Translucent, to bake my face.  Please notice that I did not use bronzer, nor did I contour or highlight my face for this look.  I want my skin to look as natural and smooth as possible.

Although, I did not contour my face, I did go in with bronzer and do a slight contour of my nose.

Eyebrows and Eyes

Because my eyebrows are so thick and dark, I used concealer on my eyebrows and loose face powder as well.  After, I go in with a brown to slightly lighten my eyebrows.  For this look, I kept my eyebrows  simple and more on the straighter side.

For my eyeshadow, I used my Pink Blush around the top of my eyes as well as the bottom of my eyes.  I then take my Pencil Eyeliner to line the top of my eye.  Next, I go in with a Glitter Liquid Eyeshadow in the center most parts of my eye.

The last thing I do with my eyes are false lashes.  I went with a more natural look to keep the appearance of wearing any makeup at a minimum.  If you do not like the traditional glue on false lashes, try out Arishine Magnetic Lashes.  Also check out my honest review for them as well.

Blush

And now, for the signature look, Blush!  I applied blush on the tops of my cheeks and over the bridge of my nose.  The blush application is what really gives this look the Japanese drunken, hangover look.

Lips

For the lips, I went in with a matte pink for the base, and a matte red on top to get a good blend of both colors.

Japanese Drunk Makeup Look – Final Thoughts

Well there you have it, my take on the Igari look.  This was a very simple and sweet look.  The blush really gives off a cute, innocent look that is very popular in both the East and West.  Hope you enjoyed this look!
