Youvimi Harajuku Lolita Wig with Two Small Bun

A couple weeks ago, while scrolling through Instagram, I stubbled across an add for Youvimi. Youvimi offers tons of wigs, clothes and accessories, with their main focus being on Kawaii Asian Fashion.
What really caught my eye is the number of anime influenced wigs and clothes they offer. I had never bought from this seller before, so I decided to try them out.
After scrolling through tons of different wigs, I went with their Youvimi Harajuku Lolita Wig with Two Small Bun in the color Linen Brown (product number YV40112). And I was definitely not disappointed.

My Initial Thoughts
When I ordered my wig, I chose free standard shipping and it arrived in a very timely manner, within two weeks of placing the order.
While opening the packaging, I was very excited to try my new purchase. What girl doesn’t love changing her hairstyle and hair color every couple weeks? And wigs are perfect for that. 😉
Wig Features
- Sandy blonde color (although website labels it as linen brown)
- The back of the wig is adjustable in size
- Just above shoulder length, with loose waves
- 2 cute detachable mini buns (the white bows in my photos, I bought separately)
Wig Application
Because of the short length of this wig, the application was very easy for me. I start with a wig cap to hold my real hair flat in place. I then, flip the wig upside-down with my left hand grabbing the front of the wig and my right hand grabbing the back of the wig.
Next, I move the top/center of my forehead to meet my left hand which is in the top/center of the wig. I gently use my right hand to pull the back of the wig over the rest of my head.
Comfort
To my delight, I found this wig to be very comfortable. I have had multiple wigs that I am absolutely in love with but cannot wear longer than an hour or so due to not being adjustable. The adjustable hooks in the back of this wig makes comfort optimal. There is no squeezing to point of headaches, nor looseness to the point of sliding off.
Overall look
This sandy blonde wig has such a cute look to it. It looks and falls very naturally over my face, and my friends actually thought I had re-dyed my hair. I am personally much more attracted to short haired wigs for their overall easy maintenance, and non-tangling.
Under direct sunlight, this wig is bright and vibrant. Without direct sunlight, the color is softened, with the ability to see more of the dark blonde mixture.
The buns being removable are also a great feature. Without the buns, I can use this wig in day-to-day errands and activities. With the buns, it gives a much more youthful, sweet, and kawaii look.
Pros

Cons
- The detachable bun clips are hard to open
To expand further, the small buns are over a claw clip, but opening the clip can be quite difficult. On all ordinary claw clips, there is a place to hold open the clip that gives you enough leverage to keep it open in order to place it on your hair.
Without that leverage it makes opening the clip somewhat tough. I understand that if they did make it easier to open, it could potentially show part of the plastic handles on the sides of the small buns. They do still open none the less with a little extra effort.
Pro-tip
If you have attached the two buns onto the sides of your wig after you have placed the wig on your head; when you’re ready to take off your wig, make sure to remove the buns first, before taking off the wig. The bun clips can potentially clip your hair net along with your actual hair, and be troublesome to take off. Just something to keep in mind during application and removal.
Paired Look
The look I decided to pair with this wig was a Kawaii Anime influenced look. I chose a lighter foundation for the base of my makeup as well as a more natural looking lip color. I used a good amount of pink for my eye shadow and blush, also adding blush to my nose.
I decided to keep my eyebrows dark, as I am quite fond of the dark eyebrow, light hair color look. I contoured my cheeks to slim down my face, as well as my nose to give it a small button look.
Glitter highlighter was place to the inner most part of my eye. To define my eyes more, I added false lashes and a few pieces of lower lashes just under my natural lashes. And for the final pop, I added colored contacts to really make my eyes stand out.

Closing thoughts
Overall, I love this wig. It has become one of my favorite wigs for being so soft, tangle free and looking like my normal hair. Some wigs I’ve worn shout “I’M WEARING A WIG” or I have to wear a headband around my forehead to cover the noticeable unnatural hairline. But not with this wig! I can wear this in confidence anywhere without people knowing it is not my real hair.
I would definitely recommend this wig to everyone from normal day to day use and even cosplay. I am thinking about doing a Bowsette cosplay soon, so stay tuned for more posts!
