Rating: 9.3/10
During my usual makeup research session, I came across the well-known brand, Essence. I decided to buy a blue eyeshadow palette, a nude highlighter, and a mascara. After finishing my new look involving all three products, I was extremely happy with the results. I figured it would be great for me to make my own personal Essence makeup review to share my complete thoughts and finished look.

Water Eyeshadow Palette
The colors included in this Essence Water Palette are absolutely beautiful. With both matte and glitter finishes provided inside, multiple elegant looks can be achieved. For this particular makeup style, I only used 3 out of the 9 colors available. I am really looking forward to mixing it up and using this palette many more times.
I first used color #1 on the outer most parts of my eyes, both top lid and under eye. Then, using color #2, I fill in the rest of my eyelid and under eye. Next, I used #3 in the inner most parts of my eyes. I blended out any harsh lines and cleaned up the wing to make it look extra sharp. As simple as that, my eyeshadow is finished.
What I love most about this eyeshadow is the how vibrant the colors show on my skin. Often times, eyeshadows look great on the palette, but once it is placed on my skin, I can barely see it. But not with this Essence Water Palette. The colors glide on beautifully and blend together very smoothly. I used a long lasting eyelid primer under my eyeshadow, and the color stayed on vividly all day long. I would definitely recommend this palette to anyone wanting to experiment with the blue colors. Beautiful and affordable.
Lash Princess Mascara
This Lash Princess Mascara really brought out a great amount of volume into my lashes. I do love to wear mascara at the very minimum when stepping outside of the house. Application is effortless and stays on all day. Even when I lightly wet my face or sweat, the mascara stays on very well. The biggest plus in my book for this product is the price point. Lash Princess is only one fourth of the price of my previous mascara. It does everything and even more than a typical $30+ mascara. At only a fraction of the price, this is such a great product and well worth my money.
Nude Highlighter
In the past, I have mainly used liquid highlighter. Feeling extra spontaneous, I wanted to try this new Nude Natural Highlighter to add a subtle glow to my finished look, and it did just that. After a long day of wearing makeup, my other highlighters tends to leave me looking like I have mini mirrors all over my face. This product does a great job adding the perfect amount of radiance to your face, but not shine. It’s almost like you have just been lightly kissed by little fairies.
I placed this item on the naturally higher parts of my face including: my upper cheeks, brow bone, temples, and upper lip. This illuminating shimmer left my finished makeup looking smooth and clean. As I said about the mascara as well, this highlighter is at such a great price, it is a real steal!
Paired Look
Because my last E-Girl post was such a hit, I decided to do another variation of an E-girl inspired look. I used quite a bit of Pink Blush over my cheeks and nose, and gave myself fake freckles using an Eyebrow Pen. For a more complete breakdown of my makeup process visit my first E-Girl Inspired Makeup post. As for the Orange Short Wavy Wig, I bought it off Amazon and styled it with two cute top pig tales.
Essence Makeup Review – Final Thoughts
Overall, all three Essence products worked great for me. Intense, long lasting, and best of all – affordable. If I can get a great price without sacrificing quality, sign me up! Essence is also a vegan and cruelty free brand. I would definitely recommend these items to anyone interested. I had a blast playing around with these new purchases and I am looking forward to using them more often in my day to day makeup looks. Hope this read was helpful to you and wish you luck on your makeup journey! 🙂
